Media at Different Ages

Pre-Industrial Age: The format/equipment that people used to communicate with each other are papyrus which is a paper made from plants. Through the use of stone tablets, cave paintings, and some old paper that is written in a traditional way, they were able to store information for a very long time. Another is that, through cave paintings they were able to store information, along with the clay tablets and the codex. Lastly, they used newspapers (Codex, Didao, Acta Diurna) to broadcast information that people don't know. 




Industrial age: The format/equipment that people used to communicate are the telephone and the telegraph. The machinery they used to store information were the punching cards and also the motion picture which are movies shown to people during those time. They were able to keep those films for a very long time. Lastly, they used newspapers just like the London Gazette, large printing press and also the telegraph to share and broadcast information to a large number of people. 



Electronic Age: The equipment that people used to communicate were the radio and old computers just like EDSAC, UNIVAC 1, Mainframe computers, Personal computers and Apple 1. They were able to store large number of information through the help of EDSAC, UNIVAC 1, Mainframe computers, Personal computers and Apple 1 as well. Broadcasting of information became possible through the help of OCD/LCD projectors and the transistor radio in order for issues and topics to be shared to a large number of crowd.

Information Age:  The equipment that people used to communicate were Yahoo Messenger, Friendster, Multiply, Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Skype, Google Hangouts and the Smartphones. When storing a whole lot of information, Blogspot, LiveJournal, Wordpress, Personal computers and Tablets helped a lot in storing ideas and concepts that people are not aware of. Lastly, in order to broadcast information, the Mosaic, Internet Explorer, Google, Yahoo, Wearable Technology, Virtual Reality, Google Cloud Platforms were able to help in sharing a lot of things that people still need to discover and learn.
