COMMON MISCONCEPTIONS

Technology Literacy
  • I thought that Technology Literacy is only knowing how the process of technology works. I didn't know that I need to be responsible in using it and that I must effectively apply and share my knowledge with other people. 
Media Literacy
  • Media Literacy is not just being aware of the use of media sites but you also need to possess the characteristic of knowing how to engage with other people by being able to analyze and evaluate. 
Information Literacy
  • In Information Literacy, you have to know when, what and how to effectively communicate through the information that you know. 
Media and Information Literacy 
  • I thought that in Media and Information Literacy, you only have to know how to apply and share your information in media. But I realized that you still have to know how you can benefit from it; that can help you become a citizen that knows his or her responsibility.

Media and Information Languages  Politician Scenario  Questions Answers Predict how this event will be covered by television, radio, print and Internet? Obviously, this specific event will be covered in several different ways depending on the medium used. For the television, there will be a reporter on the event where it is currently happening. He/she will give us live information about what is going on in that area. For the radio, there will be a broadcaster that will encourage people to share their thoughts and opinions regarding the situation. Whereas in print, the data gathered can be printed on newspapers, or posters. There may also be placards brought by the supporters of the government official.
